Welcome to Tash's update on women in hip hop and graffiti..
First of all I wanna say a big happy birthday to Sharline aka Spice. Here she is [2nd from L] with CHEZ, GROOVY D and MC THORN celebrating TASH and THORN's birthday last month in Sydney. Thanks to Nick Toth and crew for having me play a dancehall, hip hop , funk set at Goodbar's Step Forward night.




MC THORNrocked the mic also in her usual energetic, raw style.....
We also rocked up to Thorn's residency Gas...Big ups to the crew that partied hard celebrating all night SPICE, GANE 2, MISTERY and CHEZ. Now onto some graf!! Here is a wall in Sydney by SPICE, TASH, THORN and ROSA from Hong Kong.

This time with CHEZ at Bondi Junction. Shouts to DENA with her KEJAQUE b-girl fashion label who you can catch every weekend at Bondi markets and her cute t-shirts at BUTTER BEATS . Thanks for hookin' me up lovely....





Clearly a writer with style, ROSY ONE from Switzerland rocks my graffiti world and the whole alphabet. In fact , below I've done a spotlight on some of her work and funky characters.




















It was great fun to paint at the Queensland Art Gallery with my sweet heart KSINO.... We have had the chance to do a few walls together lately...You can check them out on the other pages in this month's 183 Update. Lots of good female hip hop records coming through BUTTER BEATS too..This month alone I scored a dope 12" by LADY LEE on Platinum Party Breaks Reggae...It's dancehall with the title cut "Some DJs" using the ROB BASE "It takes two" beat...party arty with my hearty! This vinyl gem has another two dif. tracks with guest FITZIE NICENESS. Ah, bringin' me back to the days of Weeded Records and Mango.......More quality new release reviews next month. I promise I'll get the updates back to regular...Shoutout to marvelous MISS MICKEY and PEBS! Peace
