Spice [Sydney]

The original "old Spice" from Sydney has been piecing since 1985, when she was just a 13 year old bgirl hanging out with her brother QE, one of Sydney's first writers. She first got into hip hop through breaking, when she was a dancer with the British Ballet Organization. Her mum had her do it because she was such a tomboy. At first she was just a breaker who happened to put up her name, then Subway Art came out and had her going crazy, now she was a writer who just happened to break. She was the first female Mc in Australia, releasing a song on an Aussie hip hop compilation in 1987 and even support for an Ice T concert a year later.

She is still painting legal burners regularly, and both her and her partner Unique are the proud parents of a boy and girl, as well as their own hip hop company "Basic Equipment".

Spice also runs hip hop workshops for groups as diverse as inmates of prisons, anorexic women and bored kids from out westside of Sydney.You can check out a funky public Spice piece at the Paddington skatepark in Brisbane.
