KSINO AND TASH- US Tour Summer 2002


It was Tash's first time to NYC-
and I have to say it was everything she dreamed of and more.....
Still heaps of hip hop culture, bombed trucks, city buildings,
delicious Snapple flavours, stickering, doughy pretzels in Central Park,
mad bgirl earrings, incredible pizza [big up to Sal's on Lorimer, BK.],
Soul Food, Taco Bell etc. except of course the trains are never the same...





PFUNK, KSINO, CYCLE, TSH found in Astoria, Queens NYC.
Lots of bombing this nite and lots of laughs from the very cool CYCLE.
SANE from the INFAMOUS SANE SMITH is a New York institution.
Many don't get his retro P-funk, many do !!!

Who could visit the Bronx without seeing a dope TATs cru production?
This hardworking crew just managed to squeeze in time
to paint with us on our last day in NYC..
greetings HOW, NOSM, SEN and BIO...
and also to ZEPH, STAK, DRE AND CES who also painted that day.


This crew is true stylyin from head to toe.
Big shout out and mad respect to the whole Boogie Down TATS cru together since 1980!
Fat Wholecars and panels back in the 80's, the maddest walls and still good friends and family men.
Whenever he is in New York Kasino always drops into TAT headquarters.
Some of the most grown up, mature and positive guys Kasino
has met in the whole NYC scene.

Just about every 2nd issue of Source magazine showcases their work
and they have worked for names such as Big Pun, Fat Joe, KRS 1...
A new dope hip hop publication to look out for from NY is Complex magazine.
Whats up KET.

We lived in Brooklyn baby....Here is a wall you can see from Cypress Hills Station in the BK.
It was done by POEM, TASH and KASINO.
Not only is POEM's paintings but his daughter Amanda is mad cool too.

SANE, TASH, KSINO- Queens 2002 It was great to finally meet Pink and Smith...
The lady ate honey chicken, Tash ate curry and they both talked about things like: Pink is still in contact with Lady Heart [see Subway Art cover.]

This is right near where we were staying in Williamsburg, Brooklyn with fabulous fem photographer/artist Maya Hayuk.
Maya takes photos for XLR8, VICE, MASS APPEAL and others and has shown in numerous Californian galleries
and worked with people such as GIANT, KOZIK, BANKSY and BARNSTORMERS.

The first night there she took us to Jean Grae's [aka what-what ] album launch at S.O.B's.
Tash also managed to pick up Sugarhill's Sequence first album.
Sequence was the first girl hip hop group feat. a young Angie Stone.
Also picked up ZAPP-More bounce to the ounce, Sha-key feat. Rahzel, MC Lyte's 2nd LP [thanx to DJ KATCH for her 1st LP],
a Dj Prima [girl] mix cd, a mad mashup using bounty killer and ante up [M.O.P] amongst almost another crate of 85-94 good female hip hop.
Kasino's favourite finds were a number of Schooly D 12's and some rare funk bombs.....

He has built himself a roll out moveable wall on wheels.
Reas did 5 pieces, Kasino, Tash, PHOG and Chain 3 did 4...

Phog and Reas work for a company called Funny Garbage.
They are helping with the revised Style Wars as well as Yank Crankers.
